Indian Health

India grossly lacks the medical infrastructure and fortitude to support the general health concerns of its citizens.

But this, unfortunately, is a ‘well known fact’ that simply hasn’t been acted upon with respect to the degree of its severity.

What astounds us though, is that of the 2.4 Million Lives lost to Treatable/ Amenable Issues, roughly A Third was due to the Non-Utilisation of Health Care Services.

An Average Indian visits the doctor 2 Times a Year.

We are loosing a Million Lives each year because people are indignant to consulting a Doctor !

Nidaan

Nidaan works to bring brevity and finitude to navigating solutions on elementary health issues. We scrounge resources in attempt to ease medical jargon, and provide booklets for all, aiding a fluid take on primary health.

Assessing credible allopathic solutions without consulting doctors marks but a gray area. Yet a burgeoning majority of the Indian Population strays from doctor interactions and opts a surrogate fix (Online Information, Faux Family-Doctor).

And despite its basal necessity, access to reliable, concise information (Online or other) isn't quite superfluous, instead tunes quite the task to navigate.

We have Consulted 70+ Doctors, Designers and Lawyers in optimizing a ‘Medicine-Remedy list’ (Nidaan-Pamphlet) for basic health issues, keeping due the Indian Middle Class.

Nidaan hopes to distribute these pamphlets at scale, and declutter the bundle of tacit links and conflated opinions on Elementary Health Issues.

our Solution

We’ve toured slums across Mumbai, and yet don’t quite fathom why people still are reluctant to appeal doctors.

Virtually all locations we visited were bundled with doctors or some form of Medical Fiduciary (Local Pharmacist / Trusted Elder). Yet people tend to obviate all encounters until the situation gravely deems it.

This Mentality churns deleterious when elementary health issues persist for unduly amounts of time.

People further discount ‘minor issues’ - Blisters, Diarrhoea, Extra Phlegm, Fungus, Toothache - as concerns insignificant, unprimed to consultation.

Nidaan curates Allopathic and Remedial Treatments for all possible common health issues, and presents it in an intuitive ploy in English, Hindi and Marathi.

Make it.

Self - Administration poses risks of abuse, and over-consumption.

Nidaan intends on conducting a Large-Scale Beta Test (2 Lakh Families) with Logistic Partners like Swiggy backed by Medical Insurance and Free Consultation.

We’re active partners with Microsoft Research India (Karya), Dominoes, Sion Hospital, Calcutta Foundation and The Period Society.
